Up to the stars
There’s a place that I know
Past Venus and Mars
Down a singularity
By the planets they have yet to discover
Will you go with me, lover?
I can find it with you by my side
If you’ll be my heavenly guide.
Let’s dive from the clouds
Let’s walk on the water
Make out on the sun
No kiss will be hotter
And when you’ve woken from my imagination
You’ll know it was pure fascination
That left you so breathless
So wide eyed and restless
To return to the world you were shown.
So don’t leave me alone
To wander and wither
Stuck on my own
To ponder and dither
Over why you wouldn’t come for a spin
Why you would not let me in
To your house of analyses
Numbers and fallacies
Why pick a room with that view?
When you could walk on the moon and see
All of the galaxies
Stretching to infinity
But this paper moon won’t be solid reality
All that possibility
Won’t mean a thing to me
Unless you’re holding my hand.
So let’s go up to the stars
To the place that I know
Past Venus and Mars
Down a singularity
On a planet they have yet to discover
Will you go with me, lover?
Even if it’s only in my mind
I will find it with you by my side
I’ll be your heavenly bride.
Cause if we can dream it
Then surely we’ll see it
And if not we’ll make it seem real
Steal away from the crowded mess
Build our own happiness
I’ll be your princess
And you’ll be the little prince
Guarding his rose in the sand
On the planet where no one can land.
